Celebrate California Wine Month on Catalina Island
While the winemaking regions of northern California and the Central Coast may seem like the obvious go-to locations for celebrating wine, the fact is, Catalina Island is a worthy consideration as well. Not only are wine grapes grown on the island–the roots of that winery date back to the earliest grapes grown in California, but epic events like the Annual Catalina Island Wine Festival and the Catalina Wine Mixer made famous in the movie Stepbrothers take place this month on the island. The award winning wines of Rusack Vineyards include a 1995 Catalina Island Vineyard Pinot Noir that recently earned a 94 score by Wine Spectator.
