Catalina Island Chamber & Visitors Bureau Welcomes new Director of Sales & Marketing

With more than 20 years of hospitality and tourism industry experience, Cathy Miller previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Park City, Utah’s Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitors Bureau.  Miller guided the organization’s marketing efforts leading up to, during and post 2002 Olympic Winter Games.  Miller has experience in developing and implementing annual marketing and sales campaigns targeting domestic and international consumers along with meeting, conference, retreat and leisure groups.

Experienced in the private sector as well, Miller held the regional sales and marketing director position for Guild Hospitality Group overseeing all lodging property sales and marketing efforts throughout the western region of the United States. She also served on a reacquisition executive team leading the repositioning and branding of distressed lodging properties owned by the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC). Miller also worked in a variety of positions for Del E. Webb Recreational Properties. These positions included domestic and international communications/PR and group sales management for two National Park Concessionaires; Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas and Wilderness River Expedition (a Grand Canyon River Company).

An avid outdoors woman Miller, when not creating successful marketing programs, enjoys hiking, biking, snorkeling, river rafting, horseback riding and traveling. She supports and participates in annual fundraising for ProNino, a non-profit organization that houses and educates “at risk” youth in Honduras.

Arriving in Avalon on June 30, this is Miller’s first experience living on an island.  She is excited to begin her new marketing and sales position on July 1 at the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.
