You can get to Catalina Island by passenger ferry from four mainland ports in southern California – San Pedro, Long Beach, Newport Beach or Dana Point – and the ride is only about an hour by boat or 15 minutes by helicopter. Helicopter services are available from Long Beach, San Pedro, Burbank Airport and John Wayne Airport/SNA. Private Charter Transportation, and Charter Services to Two Harbors and Emerald Bay are also available. You can also travel by private aircraft or private boat!
Once on the island, the town of Avalon or the village of Two Harbors are easy to navigate by foot – Avalon is only about one-square mile. Taxis and shuttle buses can take you to your destination, or you can rent bicycles or one of our iconic golf carts.
