Where Is Catalina Island?

Catalina Island is just 22 miles off the coast of Long Beach in Southern California.  We know, the song says “26 miles.”  Well, it IS 26 miles from somewhere along the Southern California Coast, but it’s about 22 miles from Long Beach.
