AVALON, Catalina Island, Calif. — The road paving is complete and Descanso Beach Club is a buzz of activity as the Santa Catalina Island Company opens the facility Friday May 14th.  The Beach Club will open five days a week, Friday through Tuesday, 11am to 6pm with a lunch menu full of old favorites mixed with new creations.  Beginning June 1st, they will be open seven days a week, 11am to 6pm.  Dinner service on the expanded deck begins June 4th every Friday and Saturday night and the Barbeque Under the Stars opens for Friday and Saturday service on June 25th.   Descanso Beach Club will be closed for a private event on Friday May 28th.  

The Pavilion Hotel re-opened its doors on May 14th as well, poised and ready to greet her guests with all she has to offer.  The Avalon Grille is scheduled to open just ten days later on Monday, May 24th.  The new, waterfront restaurant will be open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm with a lively, central bar and a menu featuring classic American regional dishes with a seasonal approach.  The Avalon Grille will be closed for a private event on Thursday May 27th.  For more information, visit www.DiscoverCatalina.com.
