Catalina Island Museum:  New Exhibit starting Feb. 4th - Fantasy Into Art:  The Avalon Casino Murals of John Gabriel Beckman.  This the first major exhibition documenting John Gabriel Beckman`s work on the murals of the Avalon Casino building and the artistic process involved in their execution. For the first time ever the exhibit will feature the only remaining conceptual watercolor sketches of the Casino murals, including the original conceptual sketch which convinced William Wrigley, Jr. to hire Beckman for the project. These Beckman originals give unprecedented insight into the method of one of the greatest muralists of the art deco era.  310-510-2414

Urban Adventure Quest:  Smart Phone Guided, Scavenger Hunt Walking Tour of Avalon.  Discover the interactive scavenger hunt that combines the fun of the amazing race with a three-hour sightseeing tour of Avalon. Guided from any smart phone, groups make their way among well known and overlooked gems of the island, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history. MOVIES:
Contraband is playing through Feb. 9th.  The movie begins at 7:30pm.  Movie tickets are available at the Avalon Theatre at the base of the Casino Building before showtime or through any Discovery Tours agents.

Friday and Saturday at 7pm listen to the Theater's fabulous pipe organ before the movie.

This is the only time scuba diving is allowed in Avalon Bay, with 500+ expected volunteer divers collecting trash and debris. Awards ceremony follows on Wrigley Stage with prizes & giveaways.
