7/4 Celebration on Casino Point
The 2013 Catalina Island Museum Fourth of July Music Festival takes place at The Point, immediately adjacent to the Avalon Casino, one of the most picturesque locations on Santa Catalina Island. The festival highlights a diverse line up of local musicians, spectacular fireworks and great barbecue fare provided by Steve's Steakhouse and the Santa Catalina Island Company. Beer, wine and other refreshments will also be available for purchase. From rock to reggae, the music festival will showcase five local bands: the Catalina Island All-Stars, IPA, Hot Off the Range, Something and Fighting Chance. There will be a surprise special guest appearance by an island music legend. Emperor Rosko - the famed 1960s DJ whose life was portrayed in the film Pirate Radio - will emcee the festival, entertaining the crowd with his lightening-fast "jive talk" and antics.
