By sea or air, getting to Catalina is easy and fun. You can get to Catalina Island from five mainland ports in Southern California and the ride is only about an hour by boat or 15 minutes by helicopter. Once here, Avalon is easy to navigate by foot – it’s only about 1 square mile. Or you can take a taxi, a trolley or a shuttle bus to your destination. Or you can rent bicycles or our famous golf carts.
The Chicago Cubs trained on Catalina Island from 1921 to 1951.
